Contact usLast 4 February, alongside ‘Pitti Taste’, two great Florentine businesses, Officine Gullo, renowned for the production of luxury metal kitchens, and Giusto Manetti Battiloro, the historic gold leaf producer, came together for an evening dedicated to celebrating the ancient tradition of gold in cuisine, together with the Gualtiero Marchesi Foundation, in an exceptional venue in the heart of Florence: the Officine Gullo House.
From the ancient East to the splendours of the Renaissance, for centuries gold was the protagonist of the most important tables in history, until with Gualtiero Marchesi it became a true icon of haute cuisine. By bringing the culture of art and beauty to the centre of the plate and perfectly balancing aesthetics with the flavour of a classic recipe masterfully revisited, the Chef created a timeless masterpiece.
Florence is the city where these two important realities were born and still thrive, and right in the heart of its historic centre, in Piazza Ognissanti, stands the Officine Gullo House, where this highly successful evening took place. It is a special place, an ancient deconsecrated chapel that is part of the Ognissanti complex, which Officine Gullo chose as the home of its experiential space, where, in addition to displaying some of its most iconic products, it organises experiences that combine fine gastronomy, craftsmanship and culture.
