Officine Gullo is the main sponsor of the Naval Academy Regatta RAN 630 for the second year running

Last 17 March, Officine Gullo hosted at its House in the heart of Florence an event reserved for the yacht owners registered for the 2023 edition of the regatta. Located in a Renaissance chapel adjacent to the church of Ognissanti, to which it is connected by a “secret passage”, Officine Gullo House welcomed not only the yacht owners but also senior representatives of the Naval Academy of Livorno, members of the media, sponsors and sailors, who were thus able to meet and speak with the president and the secretary general of Yacht Club Livorno.

The Naval Academy Regatta – RAN 630, will set off on 23 April from Livorno on a triangular route that will take the fleet past Porto Cervo, in Sardinia, before crossing the Tyrrhenian Sea again towards the island of Capri and heading back up the coast towards Livorno.  Also present at the evening was Ida Castiglioni, the first Italian woman to cross the Atlantic solo during the 1976 Ostar, who wished to express her personal appreciation for the educational value of an offshore regatta such as the RAN 630.

After an official presentation of the regatta, the evening truly came alive thanks to an actor who, in the role of Amerigo Vespucci, accompanied guests on a visit to the splendid church of Ognissanti, the parish of the influential Vespucci family, whose chapel is located there. The skilful use of the language spoken in Florence at the time, the telling of the great navigator’s exploits, together with descriptions of the works on display, including Giotto’s famous crucifix, made the evening a memorable event for the guests.

Upon returning to OG House, guests were able to sample the delicacies prepared by the chefs, who put on a live cooking performance.
